Danish history

Last week we started vacuuming at the storage. There is almost nothing to shelve, the extra workers have been very efficient. Today we transported some carts with books to the storage. It's all the periodicals on military science, which we needed to get out of the way. This subject is not so much in demand that we need to keep it at the main library.

The weekend was spent mostly relaxing at the summerhouse. The biggest news was the new fridge/freezer in the kitchen. We covered three fleamarkets also.

Monday I attended a guided tour inside the Lund cathedral. The topic was Archbishop Andreas Sunesen who lived in the 13th century. Back then this area belonged to Denmark. According to the legend a piece of red and white cloth fell from the sky into Sunesen's hands during a battle in 1219. He decided that this were to be the Danish flag, Dannebrogen. It's the eldest of all nation flags, this year is of course the 800 year jubilee. Last year I visited Ivö Island where Andreas Sunesen lived, so this tour was an opportunity to learn more. We also got to see some pieces of the clothes that were found in his grave. Quite interesting.
